I guess this means I'm an adult now

I tried my hardest to get out of town before the snow started falling today. I rushed home after grading and threw clothes into a suitcase, loaded up my car and hit the road. If everyone else in town hadn't done the same thing, I'd be writing this from home most likely. So yes, I'm very upset about this snow business. I want nice dry roads, ( Read more... )

You did the smart thing to turn around and come back to your place. It’s good to know that you are safe at home. It is just brutal out there, from the pictures I’ve seen and the video I’ve watched.

and I hope I can borrow a shovel to get my car out.

Haha! You and Roch have something in common.

didn't put a degree sign on angle measurements. I had kids do that all the time on labs and I kept marking it wrong.

You are so like my science teachers in high school (but strangely, not in college). They were very strict about keeping units. And I agree wholeheartedly. A number without the unit tells nothing. One of my teachers would go as far as invalidating a lab report, or failing a test if we didn’t use them.

The snow is up to my knees, but surprisingly, my street is plowed (I'm on a residential dead end, so I assumed I'd be plowed out last). I've decided that I can use a bucket and my scraper to gather up snow and move it away from my car, so I may be okay without a shovel. I'm definitely going to buy one before I come back, though. If every store I check isn't out of them.

I am sooo glad I don't have to dig my car out ever. It's a crazy, adult concept. :P

One thing that bothers me to no end is how many students didn't put a degree sign on angle measurements. I had kids do that all the time on labs and I kept marking it wrong.
Yup yup yup. No degree sign means radians! And then their answer is wrong. No question.

Awww your friends sound fun. I need more of those. Any tips? :)

I was shoveling my car out to today thinking how sad it was that I was no longer getting paid to do it. On the plus side, my arms are really toned.

You need to move to a city with lots of wineries!
