Do you think you will ever give up your life of crime?

[She grins briefly.]

"Life of crime"? [And she pauses to give the question due - and brutally honest - consideration.]

I would not say that it is my life. The crime is ever a means to an end. If I have no more ends to meet by doing such things, then perhaps my time as a criminal will also cease.

Although, as I'm sure you can understand, quitting the thrill of it is far harder than quitting the practical act.

Yes, I suppose I do understand enjoying the thrill of it all.

What is the end you're trying to meet? A life of luxury?

[She's so glad you do. Not that she would be able to convince you to join her sometime~]

Yes, that is one of them. Would you like to take a stab at the other two predominant ones, or shall we let honesty give all the answers?

[Sorry, John only breaks laws for a good cause...or because Sherlock asked him to.]

I'd rather have you tell me.

As you wish. I would have to say the over-arcing end is sating my desire to be amused. It amuses me to have luxuries in my life, it amuses me to match myself against Holmes. The thrill is amusing.

And perhaps it would relive you to know that I do happen to have justice as a motivation.

Justice as a motivation for thievery? How does that work? Are you planning on becoming Robin Hood?

[She laughs~] Nothing quite so selfless, I'm afraid!

Perhaps an example: I was once cruelly wronged by a man that I had loved, so I took it upon myself to see that he could make no move against me in the future.

How are you so confident in everything you do?

Is there a secret to this?

Such a compliment!

Mmm, no secret, I think. Some people naturally have more confidence than others. However, you can cultivate it. Build on small successes. Have no fear to make mistakes, but when they come, learn from them. Cliché, I know, but true.

Cliches exist because they've repeatedly been correct. Your point is well taken.
