I’LL START US OFF. So I’ve been feeling pretty... bleh, I guess. It’s difficult to pinpoint why! I love my roster, and my CR, and everything ever but I’ve just been in this giant slump where I don’t want to do anything. I’ll still tag things, and I do enjoy the threads that I do have, but that urge to TAG ALL THE THINGS and do ALL THE PLOTS isn’t there anymore. I’m slow and unmotivated

That works sometimes with me, but I actually just got off of one earlier in the month and it did nothing sob. Well, it sort of worked since I am doing better than I was before I took it, but I'm still just ooooh noooo about things.

I AM STILL VERY UNSURE ABOUT CASS'S VOICE. I've gotten my motivation to tag things back (finally, since it was basically gone all summer) which is great, but I feel like I haven't done any threads that just scream Cass to me. Partly the problem is that her characterization is all over the place cause lol DC, and I don't like how she was characterized in Gates of Gotham but I'm taking her from Gates of Gotham so I'm trying to make her sound like Cass but not like her last appearance and I put Cass in your Cass so you could Cass while you Cass!!!! This is incomprehensible to people who aren't DC lol whoops

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN WITH DC. Luckily I haven't had to worry about it with Steph because Bryan Miller is the most magical flower in the world. But when I play other DC characters or just... comic characters in general... it's always this big ball of WELL THIS APPEARANCE HAD THEM DOING THIS, BUT THIS ONE SAYS THIS and it is confusing and a clusterfuck and bluuhhh.

So I say go with your gut feelings on things. Not every one of their appearances in stuff have been IC! Some writers just completely miss the point regarding some characters, so it's up to us to poke at it all with a stick and figure out which ones feel right. Not having consistency sucks, but the good thing about rping as these guys is that we can make up for it.

Steph's voice has been so wonderfully Steph for her Batgirl run which was magical YOU LUCKY BITCH ETC ETC, but I feel like there have been so few Cass appearances that actually sound like something Cass could conceivably say (I thought her stuff in Red Robin was pretty good but otherwise it was either LULZ I KILL U or, like in Gates of Gotham, sounding a lot like Steph?? IDK she sounded like a slightly less wordy Steph) so I am like WAT DO. And I don't want to conclude that it's impossible to recover from the lololololevilness thing, because like it or not that's canon and I gotta deal with it, but coming up with a realistic way for her voice to have developed with all that shit is harrrrrd 8( I have more eloquent thoughts on this but it's mostly IT'S HARRRRD

I know what you mean, since I feel the same thing regarding Supergirl. Her book has been all over the place so I have trouble figuring out what is what, etc. Really, just... do what you think is right, is all I can say. COMICS ARE HARD kjdg

WOW SO SICK OF BEING ON ALL OF THE HIATUSES. I have a lot less time for the game this year, since I'm working part-time, going to school full time, and have the usual social stuff to attend to. RP drive took a massive hit this semester. So, I'm going to be dropping Badou, and maybe apping a new character if time eventually permits.

I love Zura's CR, you guys have really stuck around and been patient with my SUDDENLY ALL THE HIATUSES. I'm going to throw him into everything and start some new stuff/ACTUALLY MAKE SOME GODDAMN POSTS really soon.

Also, I talked about this with Jade earlier, but I'd like to do a Guide Glitch event! Essentially, it would have characters jumping into threads in every post, and really stir up some new CR and new interactions for people who are feeling stuck or bored or slow. New CR leads to new life, which leads to more player-driven plots, outside of LOL NEW PLANET or LOL DRIVE EVENT. Let's get something cool going!

Dropping a comment here to say that a Guide Glitch event would be amazingly fun! I would love to see that happen sometime.

Also, I can't say much since I... don't have CR with you (oops), but I don't think you should feel bad about ALL OF THE HIATUSES. Life can be stupidly unpredictable sometimes, so I think it's understandable but I can also see how it's frustrating. Just do your best but remember what is important!! and pretend I actually make sense

Yeah! It would be really great for shy and antisocial characters, I think. Maybe it could like, lock the Guide into that conversation for X amount of comments?

I don't feel guilty, just sort of pissed off and UGH I MISSED OUT!!! They were hiatuses I needed to take, but it's still a bummer, because I love playing with you guys. This game is really the best I've been involved in!

roleplay relatedI feel like before the end of the year I'm going to need to drop a character. I love this game so much but between it, college, other games, and trying to actually have a social life and find myself, my tagging rate is going to get slower and slower and I'm just going to stress myself out more and more because I'll convince myself that I am character squatting. It's been something I've been going back and forth on for ages (or, like, around a month), actually, and I keep telling myself "drop Nils drop Nils it's less painful than the alternative" which... is true, but even though half the time I feel like I don't even know what I'm doing with Nils (curse you Fire Emblem for making him such a side character with no supports and so little to work off of), I really love playing him. I think I've been in an rp slump lately. I just haven't been getting the motivation for tagging, even though I should. But I love rping and I love this community.

I'm worried that I'm losing my grip and depth on Miku, but I really don't wnt that because I love her and she's one of my favorite muses

Ugh I feel like so many of our general problems come from the fact that we get stuck in a rut of just MAKE A POST PEOPLE REPLY TO POST CHAT EACH OTHER UP NICELY MOVE ON type CR, when events are super fun and can come up with some really crazy shit but we're not actually doing many. DUNNO HOW TO FIX THIS CAUSE I CERTAINLY AIN'T HELPING BUT THOSE ARE MY FEELINGS.

Also re: activity check the mods are super chill about it, and we only have to do half activity for November and none for December, so even if you don't pass this month it is not the end of the world at all and you can easily make it up! I'm always a lot more active when it doesn't count lmao...

re; post responding, the best shit you can possibly do to facilitate this is respond to other people's posts. Characters who have the highest comment counts on their posts tend to be characters who went out and commented to someone else first!

If you have been doing this, try commenting to new characters, or come up with replies that lend to something other than the sort of shallow chit-chat OH HOW ARE YOU OH I AM FINE HOW ARE YOU I AM ALSO FINE PIP PIP type CR that Corinne was talking about.
