He returns to D.C. burdened by a completely disproportionate sense of guilt. None of this was ever about her permission or her approval, yet she’s given him both. Hard to tell which is worse-her tacit acceptance of the situation, or his own responses to it. Because the truth is that if it were Cam’s dad, or even Angela’s, he probably would have

Booth/Cam are always such a joy for me to write. I appreciate the review!

I also love your use of language and word choice: "questioning if the priorities by which you structure your life," "nurturing a future," "gumption." And that's all just the beginning. After that, I was being swept along by the story and not noticing the mechanics so much, but I'm sure you keep it up.
A wonderful story. Thanks for posting.

This is such a perfect way of putting it, and exactly what I'm trying to convey. I'm really glad that you're finding this compelling and that you're enjoying it. I've hit a bit of a stumbling block with my general dissatisfaction with Show right now, but I've had the whole story mapped from the beginning. Hopefully I can get my butt in gear and continue this soon.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts!

I like how you've captured what is so frustrating about Bones for me: her inability to be really up front with what she feels about anything and how that prevents Booth from saying what he wants to without hurting them both.
This is a really thought provoking story.

On the flip side of Brennan though, I don't think Booth is capable of that kind of emotional honesty right now. So something has to give, right? ;)
I'm glad you're enjoying this.

I love the way Booth's feelings about Brennan are so very near the surface that they are roiling to explode --- but can't because he's jumping to unwarranted conclusions.
Brennan,on the other hand, is hurt and mystified because the usually open Booth is "closing the door" to interaction with her.
Great story.

I like how Olivia told him to go see Brennan and how she talked to Brennan too.
Looks like Booth is the one that's jealous now. Although I don't blame him for being mad. While he was in a war, seems like she was actually enjoying her time away.
I can't wait to see what happens next!
Thanks!
