[A post from Moro's journal is extremely rare - that thing almost always sits in her den, completely ignored. But apparently, her message is pressing enough to paw at the thing until she feels it's turned on.

Which means about five minutes of a giant paw padding the paper before Moro's grumbling voice goes through it.]If you humans do hear me: do ( Read more... )

Funny story. Someone went and cut down some trees a while back. He mentioned it over the journals.

[Heh.]

So I told him about you.

Tell me his name.

I didn't catch it.

[Give him a second, he's flipping back to see if he can find it.]

But what I do know is that he cut firewood for the whole village.

Then he will be met with my fangs if he enters the forest again this winter.

[Action] He'd be out there somewhere, anyway... dun_measure_up December 10 2011, 08:01:01 UTC
[A small little human all bundled up tramping through the woods. No supplies, either. And despite looking human, he smells as strongly of wolf as he does of man, at the moment. The full moon always does that to him.]

[Wolf scent, eh? That's interesting. It's similar to Cooro's strange mix, so Moro's nearby, trying to discern if that wolf scent is yours or of a wolf you have come in contact with.]

[His human nose isn't really as good as it could be, especially with the cold giving it trouble. Basically, he doesn't notice a wolf god trailing him quite as early as he might have on a fine, Summer's night. Eventually, he stops, close to the remains of a rather large tree that offers a bit of a shelter.]

This'll do. Don't want to walk back soaking.

[After testing a few spots to make sure the wood can handle a small, weighty bundle of winter's clothing, he starts to strip. Sorry, Moro.]

[What is modesty and body shame if not a human concept. Seriously do you think she really cares--

That aside. She tests him, growling loudly from several yards away.]

[... It's... honestly nice to hear someone else caring about the trees in Luceti, even if Robert doesn't expect to see this particular face. However, his memories from the alternate life cling enough to give him a name - Moro.]

A-Are you an... environmental c-consultant, of sorts...?

[... "Forest god" is not a word that would normally exist in Robert's vocabulary.]

... A-At any rate, I should... certainly hope nobody cuts these t-trees unnecessarily. E-Even if they are... Malnosso additions, cutting trees is... a-an abominable waste.

I am the god of this forest.

[Short, straight to the point, and above all else, extremely impatient-sounding.]

[... That isn't s response he would've expected, but... it intrigues him.]

... The god...? ... Well, I h-have... never spoken to a god b-before...

[He would've been entirely skeptical awhile ago. Luceti has taught him that sometimes he should just... accept it first sometimes, and ask questions later.]

If you don't want people cutting down the trees, maybe we could help gather up the dead ones to use for firewood instead so that they don't have to cut any down.

I have suggested and ordered such. Apparently my word is not being spread amongst you humans.

Then we'll just have to try harder to get them to listen. I'm sure people aren't cutting down the trees because they want to hurt you or the trees... they just need the wood for things.

I was told of a boy who cut trees for the whole village.

[Her teeth are bared, and the growl is low - she wants to find out more, and how many trees, but chaaaaances are once she finds out who and how much, he won't be let back into the forest.]
