[There’s a teenager!

He’s wet, in something of a ‘I’m going to ignore how much of a drowned rat I appear’ way. One might assume that he fell into the fountain at some point, but equally, the all-encompassing wetness may have something to do with the fact that he was just in England, aka the land of copious amounts of tea-and-rain. [There's a slight delay before he replies, and it takes a moment for the expression of sheer surprise to fade.]

You don't mean to say that I haven't tumbled down any rabbit holes, then? I was quite looking forward to waking up after a brief excursion into madness.

Maybe a figurative rabbit hole? But no waking up, probably. We're all really, really stuck here.

I've got a bit of an explanation.

[Pause. And, despite herself, she sounds vaguely amused, though her tone is warm.]

As well as a fondness for tea, though I reckon that's more where I'm from than anything else. But in any case-hullo.

A bit of one. Am I going to have to collect the clues and work out how they fit together?

[There's a quiet hum.] You're English, aren't you?

No. No riddles, either. I'm not a sphinx.

[Ginny sounds quite pleased.]

And absolutely I'm English. I figure if you're new, it's always nice to hear something familiar, yeah?

That begs the question: what are you, then?

I doubt I'd be opposed to becoming more familiar, but I wouldn't call you it just it.

[Have a look of mild surprise!]

Hello. It is particularly pleasing on the ear, isn't it? And it would certainly appear so.

I'm Dulcie!

[Dulcie waves into her device. Now that it's not in extreme close-up, William may notice Dulcie's wings. They're white, with about a six-foot span. Today she has decided to decorate them with Xs and Os.]

Dulcie. [The wings grab his attention enough to distract him from the fact that he didn't bother with a 'miss'.] That's quite the impressive set of wings.

TOTALLY SPAMMING YOU RIGHT NOW. But it seems like you needed a boy here. :-D totallyinaband June 6 2011, 13:42:10 UTC
Alice in Wonderland's not actually that far off, man. Although I haven't seen any giant caterpillars around here before.

[Slowly getting used to be spoken to by disembodied voices, okay.]

I've been informed that that's no argument for them, or it, not existing.

HOORAY! VALIDATION! totallyinaband June 6 2011, 13:48:56 UTC
True, man. Last month we had giant killer harpies and rampaging carousel animals.

[LENGTHY PAUSE. Because really. That's a little weird.]

It sounds as if there's no shortage of excitement.

Guessing you've been downlowed?

[And oh look! He sounds like Giles. But younger. And cuter. Instant points]

[Momentary hesitation because-- 'downlowed'?]

I've been given a guide and told to exercise my imagination.

That depends on how good your imagination is. And what you were supposed to exercise it over.

The guide is helpful. Questions, comments? I have a mocha. I'm good for the answering.

Also, Buffy.

Exceptionally good; books, and creatures envisioned within their depths.

I haven't got round to reading it yet. [People keep talking at him, and he's yet to meet any of them. NEVERTHELESS, he pauses, eyeing her cup for a moment.] Do mochas and Buffys tend to help with 'the answering'? Should I arm myself with them on the off-chance I'm expected to do some of the answering down the line?

[...He may or may not be gently taking the piss.]
