COMBINIS ARE THE GENIUS OF JAPAN. Forget the Kyoto castles and all that Edo stuff, man. It's the convenience stores that people need to know about. (Have you had spicy chicken at a Family Mart yet? YOU MUST. It's one of the best snack foods ever.)

I definitely second you on the karaoke. And because who doesn't like a bit of nostalgia?

I loved reading your post ^^
Oh hahah ~ i noticed that lots of grannies had colourful hair and i was like wtf. I thought it was cute, yet i wonder what my granny would say if she saw this XD Le shock.

Oh my favourite combini is Family Mart and am/pm <333333
I got ecstatic over that repetitive music at Family Mart. I always thought that the employees must be having tremendous psychological issues , listening to this music for like 8 hours or more.

How can you have National Insurance? Do you have to pay an annual fee or sth? For students i guess everything is set beforehand since the Uni acts like a proxy in these cases. But how about people who go there to work for example?

^^

National Insurance is available to all citizens and visa-holders, and does require an annual fee. It's seriously awesome!
