...And last night I got a call from the child minder, in a bit of a state. Her mum went for a scan yesterday. It seems she didn't have a stroke after all - she has a tumour.

What can you say?

It started off badly. This should have been an omen - in fact there should have been valkyries sweeping down to the famous one from Carmina Burana - but there weren't, because it was only mediocre awful.
