February is supposed to be a particularly strong month for open-doors career-wise - starting yesterday. Let's see how it plays out - and if it plays out in the way that I actually want it to in the career field I actually want to go into, instead of it just being applied to something of no real interest (which is the huge tendency when it comes to the application of my horoscope to my particular situation).
But for something more concrete and in my actual control.....
So this month, i've decided its all about majorly indulging in a couple of my pastimes that were a constant when I was in college: writing (I wrote a story), anime (was absorbed in one - Naruto), video games (the focus was on Star Wars Galaxies and Devil May Cry 3).
Gaming.
Though through an alt spot on an account that isn't mine (and on a computer (laptop) that isn't mine), I am playing The Old Republic. I look at it as a test-run: since I can't play it whenever I want and i'm at the whim of the account holder - to not get too attached to playing and such, I decided to play a fully lightside Jedi Consular - I'm not big on playing good guys, and while I am interested in playing a Consular - it wasn't going to be one of the first classes I'd play.
On with games (that are actually mine) - I'm quite hooked on Dissidia - I've finished the main story and have mastered my most favorite characters that I use: Squall, Zidane, Cloud, Sephiroth and Kuja - my main five. Firion, Cecil, Tidus, The Emperor and The Onion Knight (a newer favorite), are in my second group of favorites - of which only Firion is at master level. I recently downloaded 012 but, I wanted to finish the last story mode - and get further towards a total complete before starting it. My main focus is Dissidia, but I really should get on with at least finnishing the Aqua aspect of Birth By Sleep - and then there's Crisis Core and Warriors Orochi to advance in.
Anime
Bleach. I was introduced to this anime a couple of years ago, got to a certain point and stopped watching it - no specific reason. It's a great series, really engaging with lots of amusing characters and a solid story. Decided to rather than pick up where I left off, to just start from the beginning. Any series that one watches are going to have little things, nuisances, details, that, sure, you could watch and be ok not knowing, but if you "are in the know" it just makes the series that more engaging, and your that much more knowledgeable about what is going on, making you more fully engaged in the events that transpire. I might had missed some of the smaller details and points so....
I ended up watching the entire first season yesterday. I remember getting into Naruto as Part 1 was ending - I remember I caught up and there was 2-4 new episodes left in Part 1 to air. I saw somewhere that Part 1 is about 200 episodes - and I did that in a couple of weeks (that's with having to torrent bundles, going to class, doing projects, and working). Ah... college. Anyway, a nice thing about being behind is that I know when fillers come up - I'll be skipping fillers to catch up to the current episodes.
Writing
So I started this story (well, there were two stories I was working on while in College - pieces of one ended up being used for a script in a screenwriting class I had to take) - I've taken a long, long break from both of them. As I don't' want to leave anything hanging, and one of them is half way done - might as well finish them both (and really, why not? Nothing to really lose). I don't have any aspirations to be a writer, so nothing will really become of them, I'm just doing them just because. (though, if I ever do get into video games, one of them I'd absolutely love to turn into a game franchise).
Ah yes so - I also want to ramp-up my Japanese study. While I can't do anything formally, I have enough material to advance what I know a little bit, aside of truly refine what I have learned up to this point. I'm thinking of starting a ameba blog - as it has this aspect called 'piggu' - this would help with reading skills and, to a lesser degree, real time conversation skills.
It's not an indulgence but, as life is listless in general, I though I might try to jazz things up - a goal to become more flexible sounds nice. Plus, flexing feels great. A little bit of true physical activity can go a long way. Besides, good habits when your young helps you advance through life more gracefully, healthily, and beautifully. Gotta put together something that I can make into a satisfying routine.
So then, that's my plan for the second month of the year.
