We have enough have memorials and museums and today it's just a take it easy day in DC.

I found a nice place for a good brunch -- Busboys and Poets. There are a few branches and we went to one that's on the way to Georgetown. Seong drove today and DC is actually much easier and cheaper to drive around compared to Boston or NYC.

Our second day in DC was spent going through the rest of the memorial.

There is a streetcar station near our apartment and we managed to try it.

It's our third day in the capital city today.

Washington DC is actually quite small. It's 177 km and does not belong to any of the 50 states. It's a very neat city with good transportation network. Today we visited the New York Public Library.

There's a free tour everyday at 11 am and 2 pm and we went for the earlier one.

I was awestruck by how beautiful the building is. The entrance was so grand and there are so much intricate details in the architecture, right from the ceiling to the water cooler.

One of the things on the girls' itinerary is to make use of the free ferry to Stanten Island to get a good view of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhatten skyline.

But before that we went to the famous Nam Wah restaurant for brunch in Chinatown. This was our first Chinese meal in over 2 weeks.

We visited the MET which stands for Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York for half a day.

Entry was free but they do expect a small donation. We uber there as for a family of 5, the fare between uber and subway is not significantly different for short distance.

We arrived at New York today.

Driving into New York City is reminiscent of our experiences years ago when we drove to Paris. There was a jam at the George Washington bridge and we were stuck there for at least 15 mins. There were congestion further up but thankfully, Seong was smart enough to change route and avoid the jam.

We took on the Boston freedom trial today under a very interesting guide Jean.  I will recommend first time travellers to Boston to take this trial!
