omg i'm actually really embarrassed after writing this fic but i guess i'll share it. it's my first het!shinee pairing fiction, it's not that much of a difference, except that i keep writing taeyeon as taemin, which is not a good habit. ;________; i was actually stuck in the middle, until i saw this prompt over at ashineeworld . 2min is slowly becoming my otp, okay fine, they're already my otp but i think i'll try and write minkey next. i feel like writing angst, because it's been a long time since i wrote a real angst story. and i'm probably going to say this at every fic i write. long comments are really really loved so please? :3

searching through a maze.

It isn’t really hard to spot Minho in the crowd when you’re on the stage and when you can obviously see a man with a head taller and much more strikingly gorgeous than the rest. Taeyeon doesn’t really know how to react when she sees someone from school watching her, watching her with those burning pair eyes that she can’t seem to explain the meaning behind them. The clothes she wears are skimpy enough to embrace and emphasize the curves of her body and expose the lines of her legs and assets. Minho’s presence in the crowd doesn’t make her feel any better either.

Taeyeon decides to walk off the stage an hour earlier than she usually does. “You got off early today” Yuri says as she checks her nails. Taeyeon doesn’t reply and walks past her with a swift look, the smell of cigarette bouncing off Yuri and the smell isn’t exactly great.

It isn’t really hard to ignore Minho in school either, because she’s the kind of nobody that no one would actually care about and also because Minho’s the kind of everybody that everyone would notice. Ignoring Minho is like breathing air, except for a few times when Taeyeon catches Minho looking her way.

Taeyeon adjusts the thick-framed glasses falling off her nose as she continues eating alone.

Jinki can only sigh when Taeyeon visits him at the infirmary. Jinki makes sure he locks the infirmary door and pulls the curtains. He sighs once more when he sees the blues on Taeyeon’s milky soft skin. “You should stand up for yourself, Taeyeon” Jinki says as he applies ointment on Taeyeon’s back, her bra strap visible and her school uniform hung over her neck. Taeyeon only chuckles as Jinki continues dabbing the ointment on her back.

Taeyeon is like a doll, a beautiful porcelain doll, when the spotlight hits her as she listens to the voices of the crowd bid for insane amounts of money like throwing trash into the bin. The auction stops at a price of 1,520,000 won and Taeyeon walks off the stage. She doesn’t really care about what happens to her when she meets the bidder who bought her for an insane amount of money. He’s not exactly old, or exactly young either (it’s Junsu, the bidder tells her). He wraps a heavy arm around her frail shoulders.

Taeyeon doesn’t find it surprising when Junsu brings her into a hotel, asking her to undress. It’s always the same thing, always. She doesn’t find it surprising either when she finds herself squirming under Junsu and when Junsu’s thrusting into her so hard with heavy breaths over and over again. She moans, only because it pleasures the older man above her.

But it doesn’t stop there. Junsu starts whipping her with the belt, Taeyeon doesn’t find it surprising either. She falls asleep to the burning marks over her back, Junsu falls asleep to pleasure instead. Taeyeon wakes up the next day, dresses herself, grabs the 1,520,000 won cheque and walks out of the hotel like nothing happened.

Like always, she doesn’t really care, but somewhere in her, she does. She does care, but no one’s there to even bother about her frail, fragile heart. It’s the same, always the same.

Gwiboon doesn’t find it surprising when Taeyeon limps through the classroom door, hunching slightly. She watches Taeyeon slump into her seat, the thick-framed glasses almost falling off her nose. “Hey, you okay?” Gwiboon asks and mentally punches herself because no matter what Taeyeon would answer yes. “Jinki’s not in the infirmary today, he asked me to help you” Gwiboon whispers. Taeyeon smiles weakly, the teacher walks in a little while after. It takes every muscle in Taeyeon to not wince from the burning sensation down her back.

It’s painful alright, but Taeyeon goes through math class (her least favorite subject), does the work given by the teacher and excuses herself. She limps out of the door, she can almost hear Gwiboon cursing under her breath when the teacher refuses to let her leave the classroom. Taeyeon chuckles to herself.

She limps down the quiet hallways (because classes are commencing), her body giving into the stabbing sensation, her back hunching more and more as she makes a turn to the right. Taeyeon learns that it’s not a good thing to keep your eyes on the floor because you’ll bump into someone.

She bumps into a towering figure before her and staggers backwards.

“Are you alright?” A voice so deep and so alluring runs into Taeyeon’s ears. She looks up and wishes that she never excused herself from the classroom, it’s Minho she sees. “Y-Yeah” Taeyeon barely gathers herself up. “You sure? Because you’re limping a lot” Minho asks as he holds onto Taeyeon’s arm, refusing to let her leave.

Taeyeon shakes his warm hand off, “Yeah”

Taeyeon also learns that she has to stop relying on Jinki to lock the infirmary door because it’s not a very pretty sight to have Minho open the door wide open when Taeyeon has her uniform hung over her neck, her bra completely exposed and Gwiboon holding a yellow-stained cotton. Before Gwiboon manages to shriek, Taeyeon shoots, “Gwiboon. Shut up”.

Gwiboon gulps down her shriek but it’s not a very good thing either, because her eyes grow wide, wide enough to be compared to golf balls. Nothing ever seems to surprise Taeyeon anymore, but it surprises Taeyeon when Minho walks over to Gwiboon, takes the iodine soaked cotton and says, “I’ll do it”. Gwiboon only sighs and leaves obediently (because nothing would come out of telling on Taeyeon anyway).

Taeyeon pulls her uniform over her shoulders, dressing herself. Minho frowns, “I haven’t started”. Taeyeon rolls her eyes, “I never asked you to”. Minho pulls her down and pulls her shirt over her head, Taeyeon’s heart skips a beat. They don’t exchange words, a comfortable silence hanging between them as Minho gently applies ointment over her once-beautiful back.

It is a very disturbing sight when Taeyeon catches Jinki and Gwiboon fucking on the infirmary bed. She closes the door immediately and walks away from the infirmary, to anywhere but here. “Taeyeon?” Someone calls out her name, there’s no one in the school (besides Gwiboon) who would call her name so tenderly, except that towering man, Minho. Taeyeon looks up, adjusts the thick-framed glasses that seems to always seem to slip off her nose and walks away.

Pole-dancing isn’t really Taeyeon’s kind of dance, but she makes money out of it, so she dances. She wraps her thin legs over the cold, metal pole and rubs her beautiful breasts against it. She doesn’t understand how society works anymore as she continues waving her body on the pole. She gets off the stage after four hours, her legs sore from the heels. “There’s someone looking for you in room four” Yuri puffs out a smoke as she jabs a thumb over her shoulders.

Taeyeon sighs as she slips her heels back on and walks towards room four.

It isn’t surprising when someone pulls her in the minute she opens the door and pins her to the wall. But it’s surprising when she finds that the person who has her wrists pinned over her is Minho. She doesn’t really know what to do when Minho slams his gorgeous lips on hers. Minho’s not going to pay her, but Taeyeon really doesn’t understand why she kisses him back.

“You seem really bright” Gwiboon comments over lunch the next day. Taeyeon looks up from her glasses, they finally fall off her nose and almost into her soup. Gwiboon grabs the glasses almost immediately, “No, you don’t. You look disgusting with them on, you know?”. Taeyeon rolls her eyes and she hears a chuckle behind her. She looks over her shoulder and sees Minho. Gwiboon smirks when she sees the rosy color running up her friend’s face.

Minho always seem to surprise Taeyeon because it surprises her when he pulls her into an enclosed janitor’s closet. “What are you doing?” Taeyeon hisses, almost dropping her books. Minho presses up against her on the wall (it is called a janitor’s closet for a reason). Taeyeon tries moving back but the existence of the wall behind her doesn’t seem to let her. “Today” Minho breathes against her cheek, Taeyeon shudders visibly. Minho smiles at what he’s doing to her.

“You’re going on the auction, right?” Minho brushes her cheek with his own, Taeyeon nods.

“Why?”

Taeyeon doesn’t answer, she can’t answer when Minho’s pressing up against her and when Minho’s lips are about an inch away form hers. She just can’t answer when her mind is as blank as a white sheet. But the sudden sound of a bunch of students walking in the hallway snaps Taeyeon back to reality.

She pushes Minho off her and walks out of the suffocating place with a rosy color decorating her cheeks and a smirk across Minho’s face.

Taeyeon doesn’t really know whether to look at Minho from the stage or not when she’s being auctioned off because the way Minho looks at her, the way he’s undressing her with his eyes is more than Taeyeon can take. Her heart drops by two flight of stairs when Minho stands up and leaves a little while after the auction starts.

“I don’t get why you sell your body” Jinki remarks one day when bandaging her legs. A small smile plays on her lips, “I’m looking for something. I don’t know what, but I’m looking for something”. Jinki sighs as he looks up, “By selling your body?”. Taeyeon looks away and out the window, she’s looking for something. Something.

Taeyeon doesn’t know whether to cry or to hide in embarrassment when Minho brings his friends to the club and watch her pole dance. Her knees threaten to unbuckle, her face freezes in tension. Yuri tells her to go home because she can’t dance like that either. She gets that overly-tight outfit off her and thanks Yuri in return to take her shift. She walks out the back door, which isn’t a very good idea because that’s where the drug addicts hang around at night.

It isn’t a surprise when Taeyeon finds herself forcefully fucked, specifically raped, by four different men and when her clothes are all torn and around the floor. The rain starts to fall, she stays lifeless on the ground. “Are you crying for me?” Taeyeon mutters to the sky, her body shivering in the coldness of the night.

She doesn’t know what to think when she wakes up next to a naked Minho, she doesn’t know whether to scream or to stay in her position or to jump off the bed. She squirms out of his hands with much success but she falls off the bed by landing headfirst. She groans in pain as she holds her head.

And then she hears Minho’s laugh. It’s a little bit like a melody or a lullaby, and it’s something that Taeyeon wishes she could save it in a mp3 format and replay it everyday. Rewind it, replay it, rewind it, replay it until it breaks. Minho stands up and off the bed, Taeyeon blushes at the sight of his naked, toned and seducing body. She decides that Minho does wonders to her.

Taeyeon knew this was coming, she knew it somehow when Soojung kicks her deep in her stomach and pulls her hair so hard that a whole stack of her hair is ripped along with her fist. She doesn’t say anything when she realizes that a stream of blood drips down her lips. She limps home with a broken finger and a lopsided haircut. She opens the door to her empty apartment, closes it and leans against it.

“I want to see Minho”

Jinki reports Soojung after Taeyeon tells Gwiboon about what happened to her finger (because Gwiboon was harassing her). And for once, Taeyeon doesn’t regret what Gwiboon did because it sends a running Minho down to her classroom. Minho sighs and kisses the bandage around her finger, no words are exchanged because it isn’t needed. “Nothing ever comes out good from me, eh?” Minho mutters.

Taeyeon blinks and says coldly, “Then stop seeing me”

Minho chuckles and pushes Taeyeon on the bed, “You’re asking me to forget this face” He trails a finger down her jawline, “After I’ve carved it in my heart”.

(Jinki borrows them his infirmary because Gwiboon wouldn’t stop lecturing him about it)

Taeyeon thinks it’s wrong when Minho starts slamming into her so hard in Jinki’s infirmary. Her brain says it’s wrong, but her heart is whispering it’s right. Her heart is hammering, it’s screaming that the man above her is so gorgeous and so perfect that she can’t think straight anymore. She holds onto his biceps as Minho collapses on her after his climax, he brushes the hair sticking on her face and whispers, “You’re so beautiful”

She turns towards him and whispers at his lips, “So are you”

Jinki smiles as he watches Taeyeon hum a song through her lips. “You seem happy” He comments as he crosses his legs. Gwiboon chuckling along with him. Taeyeon smiles, “I found what I’m looking for”. Jinki blinks for a moment before understanding what Taeyeon just said, “That’s good”. The three of them sit in a comfortable silence with Taeyeon’s sweet hums until Gwiboon asks, “Do you believe in soul mates, Taeyeon?”.

Taeyeon glances at Gwiboon before standing up and running into the arms of a man by the name of Minho.

“I believe in Minho”

Jinki smiles as he leans on Gwiboon's shoulder, "She found her heart"
