Right, so two members of the Wizengamot possibly on side. Provided Wilkes does what she has to and Jugson the elder listens to me. Freeing Oscar Jugson isn't going to do much for us as a cause, sure, but it'll further weaken the confidence of people in the current system. The worse things get, the better they become. A safe maxim in these times.
Curfews. Now this is an interesting move. They're getting paranoid. Spectacular. And now they're watching. Watching everywhere. Which means we need to do two things - protect ourselves better and find a way to discredit the whole operation. By not only showing it to be unjust (which should be clear to anyone with a brain), but also to be useless. I.e. we need to carry on with our activities. Somehow.
Complicated. Let's think on this.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we have ourselves a new problem. But with new problems comes new chances. Of course, we're not going to obey any pathetic curfew. That much is obvious. However, we need to achieve two...possibly contradictorary aims here. We need people to know we're not paying attention to any pathetic law they try and put in place, but we also need to not get arrested. Masks, robes and other ways of disguising ourselves are best needed, I think. That way, unless they get one of us, they don't know who we are. Polyjuice is risky, dangerous and frankly a waste of time when the same effect can be acheived with a cloak. Making people aware we're not afraid of laws or any Ministry?
We need to walk through the streets of Wizarding London. Disguised, of course. All of us. We need to intimidate people. We need to let them know we're something to be reckoned with. We just walk along...Diagon, or something, en masse. If anyone tries to cause us trouble, we cause them as much trouble. After all, we're the ones who are prepared to break unjust laws. We might even get support for standing up against the draconian curfew. This time, don't hurt anyone unless provoked or attacked. For this one, it's a sheer display of force and will, not to start a riot or be aggressors. That's not the way we work.
On to the way we do work. We have potions. Wilkes, they've been owled to you. Put it in a ...cake or something, send it to the Marchbanks woman. Then send her a letter which tells her to ensure Oscar Jugson walks free from his trial, and also tells her to destroy the letter. And before anyone asks, this will give us two of the Wizengamot which are not normally sympathetic towards us in our sway. Why use one of these potions on freeing him? A test, I suppose. And also, it makes the Ministry look like a laughing stock.
Order wise, Caradoc Dearborn is a member, this is definate. His associates - Jones, Vance, maybe some others are members too. Meadowes is. Shacklebolt...well, it's suspected, but he's good at avoiding being caught. The only time he's got in our way have been as an Auror, so it's difficult to tell. The Prewett brothers, definately. I would like to take care of Mr Dearborn, I have things planned for him. Soon. Somebody deal with the Prewetts. Several of you, perhaps.
I think this is all we have. I think. Anything anyone wants to add? Question my judgement on? confess?
Oh, a final note. Someone let Dolohov sleep on your floor. I don't want him being arrested simply on account of being homeless.
You know, I do wonder whatever happened to civil liberties in this country? It's disgusting, the way Aurors think they own the world, simply because they enforce the law. Haven't they heard that with great power comes great responsibility? Haven't the Ministry heard this? It is ridiculous to place so much power in the hands of the law enforcers. Since when did they become above the law, since when did they become a power unto themselves?
To be frank, I am disappointed. I had better expectations of this country, than to lower ourselves to the level of a police state. This is ridiculous, even for muggle lovers, such as they are. Even the Muggles have basic freedom of movement, association and freedom of speech. Our press is being censored, as I have sent the Prophet several letters on this front, and none of them have been printed, our movement is being prohibited by a draconian curfew and our freedom of association is no doubt about to be hindered even further than it already is.
But I will tell you this, Mr Moody, Miss Bagnold, if you push the good wizards of this country, they will push back. They will not take this lying down. Not even the mudbloods and bloodtraitors will settle for this. I promise you that.
