Apparently American women are all too bitchy to understand how wonderful Sarah Palin is... or perhaps most of them don't judge people by the criteria of an absurdly insecure adolescent girl and dislike Sarah Palin because she is an absurd right-wing whack-job who is either stupid or thinks that she should appear stupid because intelligent women

It is such a perplexing situation. She is clearly the most stupid individual ever to have been involved in a presendential race by a very considerable margin - she is utterly out of her depth and has no idea about most of the issues the campaign is focused on. And yet, the extent of her stupidity makes it hard for the democrats to draw attention to it without being accused of being arrogant, nasty etc... bizarre. Certainly the Republicans are arguing that her treatment is sexist (and certainly you are right that what is sexist is the expectation her blatant stupidity should be free from criticism), but I don't think it will wash. The election, alas, will probably be decided on other things, but I think it is becoming clear that she was a ridiculous pick as VP candidate and even many republicans are saying as much.

Perhaps, but it seems like people might actually vote for her even though she is clueless.

Lets hope that the BBC won't need this after all!
