Anyone got any tips for getting over social anxiety without the aid of alcohol?

Apart from diazepam... nope :(

I always find that if I know people, it's fine, and if it's strangers I just end up talking about work..... boring but safe!

Yeah, same here. I don't really want to talk about work any more though. It gets depressing after a bit...

Actually, stranger I never have to meet again are all right too, then I can play the "how many outragious lies can I tell without being found out?" game.

Apart from Zoloft, working in a busy retail environment does it, particularly the market where shouting and starting at 6am is involved.

...sorry, that may not appeal to everyone. I just have retail fantasies.

Haven't tried the drugs but I already have a "customer facing" role. In fact the public probably have a large part to play in my reluctance to talk to strangers.

Oh. People have told me that before too. I think my brain just works differently. Zoloft is great, but only if the anxiety's interfering with living your life. :/
