I couldn't do what you started off with in line one. I couldn't finish a book that wasn't interesting. I have a hard enough time finding time to read as it is. I'd quit that.

If I'd known how the book as going to end, I never would have finished it. But I didn't, and I kept wondering if something good was going to happen. I remember thinking, "The whole book can't just be bad things happening to these people, can it?" Apparently it can, but I was holding out hope that at least one person would get a semi happy ending.
