Good luck with your move!! I know how annoying all that stuff can be but I hope you'll be able to settle in soon.
And boooo~ to being cut off from the internet. It took my provider over a month to get me back online after I moved and I thought I'd die. But then again I'm a serious internet junkie so hopefully it won't be as bad for you XDD

I'm not worried that I'll die without internet -- but there will be a lot to wade through once I get back, because certain boy bands are really way overexposed. And for actual day-today-living things, like finding a grocery store or a laundromat, I will miss the internet (unless my landlord is able to supply me with a phone directory).

I am, unfortunately, a creature of habit, so I always feel really disrupted by big changes. Plus, I've lived in this town eleven years, longer than I have ever lived anywhere else (though in several apartments/houses in this town). So it's making me feel like the settling-in process will take a long time -- just because B-town is home and C-town is not going to have that home feeling anytime soon.

And I'm also kind of a pessimist. >_< Can you tell?

I kinda know that feeling I guess. Getting settled in a new place doesn't take me as long because I've been moving around quite a bit over the last few years but I guess that's mostly just superficial. I've lived in my new place for about over a month now and I really like it and my new work isn't too bad either but it's not like I've made any real connections there yet. My colleagues are nice but I usually only see them at work and I don't really know anyone else yet. But I guess that's because I kinda suck at making new friends. It always takes me ages~ if people don't make an effort to come up to *me*.

lol yeah.. and the pessimist is pretty strong in me, too, so I can definitely relate ;)

I also have a hard time making new friends -- especially those who aren't work colleagues. And given that I like to gripe about work even when I like my job a lot, I will need to find some people with whom I can do that (since I won't want to give the new colleagues the impression that I hate the job and/or that they should boot me).

I'll have to see if I can find a Stitch and Bitch group or something, and then suborn one of them into watching Japanese boyband antics with me while we knit/crochet. Masterplan.

Good luck with the move! I hate packing - I find it hard to categorize some things and I'd end up with a large box of miscellaneous stuff.

It sucks not to have internet. The only times I've been cut off from the internet (or had very little access) was when I'm on vacation. I would spend most of my time sightseeing, but I'd miss checking LJ and downloading music and variety shows.

A few years ago, I probably wouldn't have been so dependent on the internet. Curse this addictive fandom stuff!

I'm kind of giving up on organization as I run out of time and boxes. I'm thinking I'll pad the cookware boxes with my clothes or something.

Hey you! Good luck on packing and moving!

I'm in Illinois after two days--we're here for my Grandma F's funeral :P I'm piratical, since my right I decided to freak out for the drive, so R had to do all the driving today.

Moving in summer is always a bitch :P Careful, and make sure to swill down water, you!

And congratulations again! I know it's really unsettling and uprooting, but this really is fantastic ^_^v

Grandma F!?! I'm so sorry!

I seem to be pretty well hydrated, but horrified at my own inertia -- I'm finding boxes that I never unpacked when I moved seven years ago. Contents are heading to Goodwill, since I obviously don't need whatever it is. And then I can reuse the boxes.

I will probably be calling you plenty once I arrive, so I have some 'company' while unpacking. And to talk me out of buying a kotatsu online instead of going sofa-shopping.

I hope your eye is feeling better -- at least so you can split the return-trip driving.

*hugs*
