Diabolical plans?

Since it seems like the only legitimate thing to do with my life at this point is to become a crazy cat lady, I have acquired two crazy cats. One of my actually decent students (she’s thirty and therefore places a bit more value on her education than the kids who never particularly liked school in the first pace but just don’t know what else to do ( Read more... )

I am a fan of compressed air... weaktwos June 9 2011, 00:18:15 UTC
Hey, I caught this on flange's google reader. You have lovely furldren! I am the owner of two adult cats who are still rather mischievous on the kitchen counter thing. I used to use the squirt bottle.I personally have two problems.

Problem the First: Poor aim.
Problem the Second: I don't want to keep cleaning water off my counter tops
Problem the Third: Apparently, my cats really aren't all that vexed by water.

Someone finally recommended compressed air. They added that the air sounds like a hiss. I have found that my cats are farm more trainable with the compressed air. I don't even have to fire it off now. I merely have to grab the can, and Sascha the rogue high tails it to lower ground.

Also I recognize that ultimately the cats need high spaces to watch their humans. I'll be looking into some high, cat friendly furnishings like shelves and cat trees in the area's I hang out in, so they can watch from the preferred angle.

Enjoy!

My spray bottle is not apparently designed for immediate response to marauding kittens -- it takes a while to prime the pump. But the kittens seem to know to flee the scene of offense when the hear the sound of the handle pumping, so I haven't actually had to spray them very often. But maybe I should invest in the compressed air thing for keeping them off bookshelves -- I really don't want to risk getting books wet. >_< So where does one find compressed air? Electronics stores?

Office Supply stores like Staples and Office Depot should have it, as well as Electronics/computer stores. You may even be able to buy in bulk at a place like Sam's or Costco.

Your kittens are adorable! It's my first time seeing extra-toed cats. Love the names you picked too.

I wanted a cat in the past, since they're easier to take care of than dogs, but my family doesn't like cats and we ended up getting a dog instead - a Shiba Inu, which we named Toshi. He's like a cat and ignores me half the time.

They are mutants!

I really don't understand people who don't like cats, but then, I don't like dogs (and dog people probably don't understand me!). I prefer a cat's aloofness to a dog's grovelling independence. Sounds like you lucked out on a dog that is independent -- and Shiba Inus are pretty cute!
