Everyone who I'm currently friends is still a friend. I'm going to make a post soon explaining why I've decided to start f-locking posts containing personal information. It mainly as to do with the realization that over the past two (almost 3 years) I've put a lot of detailed info about myself out there. This never bothered me before but I recently read a very scary article in the Chicago Reader about a truly bizarre internet scam and it's made me realize that I ought to be more careful.
Yes, I have wondered why you used your real name on your info page, along with childhood and current pictures. I assumed that you felt very safely anonymous.
Ana Sara Rexell is actually a psuedonym, not my real name and I do change all named on this journal but I realized it wouldn't be too hard for to figure out where I worked and given that I've posted pictures it would be easy enough for someone to identify me if they had a mind to. I guess I've always assumed I'm under the radar but the article I read sort of reminded me that there are are people out there who will do harm for no reason other than that they can and it just seems safer to be a little more careful.
Hi, another lurker. I love your fanfics, and I read your posts about eating disorders in a broader cultural context with great interest. I feel odd asking you to friend, when there's nothing on my journal that you'd be interested in. But ... please don't make the awesomeness inaccessible?
I've added you as a friend. There's a post here-- http://bitterfig.livejournal.com/155905.html that explains my decision to f-lock some of my entries. For the record bitterfic, my fan fiction journal, will remain accessible to the public.
