halloween tea

My parents and I went to a literary high tea with a Halloween theme yesterday.

It was held at a church in Jordanville, a small town about 45 minutes from our home.  It started off with tea and a course of all different kinds of little sandwiches, and then a story was read a loud.  After that there was more tea and a course of scones.  This

It was fun. They apparently have a couple of these teas/readings every year. They do Christmas, Valentines Day and Mother's Day in addition to Halloween. I might go to the X-mas one-- the featured story is going to be Truman Capote's "A Christmas Memory" which I love.

Hm ... now I want to write some holiday stories so they'll be read at someone's tea, someday. :->

A whole course of different scones-- my father's favorites were the glazed pumpkin scones.
