inglourious dreams

Last night I had a dream that was backstory for Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. I was a young girl in a very wealthy family and the Basterds were using our decrepit summer estate for training. My mother cautioned me very strongly against associating with the Basterds but I think I sort of had a thing for Donny (aka the Bear Jew) who I ( Read more... )

Thanks so much, I'm hoping to get a job soon.

I've always had a lot of what I call fan fiction dreams, AU's and mash-ups of different films, television shows or books... this one sort of made me think of the early sequences in Atonement or the younger sister in Bridesheads Revisted. I remember that the soldiers were very polite around the family but that when I was sneaking around watching them they'd curse a lot.

I ended up writing an original story based on this dream (1st non-fan fiction I've managed since fall of 2006). If you're interested it's posted at my fiction journal---

It's something that I might try to write as an original fic at some point. In the dream there were a couple hundred soldiers, many more than the small squad in Inglourious Basterds. Donny was really the only specific character from the film and he didn't do his baseball bat thing or anything, I think he just caught the narrator's eye because he was just a very, very big guy.

I got woke up at 6:30 by a dream about a zombie apocalypse. Your dream was more fun. :-)

I've been having some really crazy dreams lately. Last night I had one about the inevitable romance between a porn star named Clara Klara and an artist seen from the point of view of a child from Clara Klara's first marriage. It was sort of sad being the poor kid and realizing my father was on the way out....

At least yours would make a good story idea! Mine was just -- running and hiding.

That's sort of the basis of 100's of zombie movies.
