thankful for unemployment?

I went to the supermarket yesterday. There were fairly long lines with the pre-Thanksgiving crowd and the cashiers were hauling whole turkeys over the scanners.

I was very grateful not to be working in a supermarket anymore.

I'm working 12 hours this Thanksgiving ... however, unlike retail, Thanksgiving is only slightly busier than normal for dispatchers.

That's a loooong shift, still though you're performing a necessary service. My family has a long and distinguished history of emergencies on holidays (and especially holiday weekends.)
