Roger Ebert, who I really respect called it Kick Ass "morally reprehensible" so I know it's illicited strong reactions. I did find the idea of an 11 year old dealing in such strong violence disturbing yet at the same time I found myself responding to Hit Girl the way you're supposed to respond to action heroes but I never do, feeling really invigorated and pumped by her scenes.

I definitely didn't find Hit Girl at all sexualized, and I tend to be hyper-sensitive about stuff like that. Her costume covered her up and was age appropriate, she didn't wear make-up or act flirty. Some of the other female characters in the film were treated with less respect but Hit Girl didn't seem at all sexualized.
