The politics of the "Obama memo" are starting to tumble out of control. It is now not impossible that our Federal government will fall because of clumsy accidental meddle in the American presidental primaries

Naivety. Somehow, we think that when a new party takes power, they can make a budget we like because every bill was properly paid and noted and the books are all in order exactly as we'd expected, not having had access to the federal ledgers. Somehow, we think a cut in taxes is a good thing when we still owe money to other countries and are obligated to give aid to different ones. And somehow, we think that everyone has the same priorities as us when it comes to health care, environment, budget, security, war, etc. etc.

We're never going to have all the information. But expecting that we do - that's going to be our downfall.
