Bird Damage

Apr 12, 2008 13:58

Finally got out into the back yard for the first time this spring. The startings have not only been getting into my kitchen vent (top of the 2nd story), they've totally torn off the flaps and left a gaping hole in the back of my house!! Needless to say there will be no more birdfeeders.

Starlings are migrants, so they won't be around in the winter - I reduce our feeders to only the specific species feeders over the summer (finch and woodpecker). Not only does it decrease cost, it prevents a generation of feeder-dependant birds who don't learn how to forage.

Perhaps it just happened, but in any case, it's a total mess.
