Great commentary, and good to hear. I'm excited that Dark Knight is standing up to the expectations of those hoping for this kind of superhero story. I've been waiting for The Watchmen to come out (for about 15 years now...) and I can see that it will have a much better chance in the wake of Dark Knight than it ever would have in isolation.
It's the sort of story where I think ironically the higher you set your hype and expectations, the more powerful and tragic a story it becomes.
As for The Watchmen ... it must be a consequence of not knowing anything about graphic novel, but that teaser did absolutely nothing for me ... without enough context, it was just noise.
