It's beginning to look like the government is going to fall on their disastrous little power games. The opposition parties have drafted a non-confidence vote (which can be introduced in a week after the PM scrambled to clear all votes off the agenda) and there are serious negotiations under way for an unbelievably complex (by our standards) ( Read more... )

Well, if the ndp and the liberals form a colition, jack can enter the leadership race fair and square. I think Ignatieff will still take it though.

I don't think the parties would formally merge like the Alliance and PCs did ... it would be a European-style coalition of separate parties that operated as a single entity for the duration of the parliament.
