i was thinking that i recently bought "the night circus" but no, i bought a different circus book. how was this one?

i want to say i read it at the right time. i'd heard great things about it but kept bouncing off of it just from looking at the cover. no fault of its own. i think it's that i'm fussy about my literary SFF. it's not that i don't like it; it's that i have to be in the right mood for it. i read SFF for world-building and escapism. which doesn't *have* to be fluffy (clearly), but if it's something i want to treat differently (really appreciate the writing, etc.), then my brain has to be up for it. this time i was in the library to browse rather than pick something up from the waitlist, and i said aha! i think i'm finally in the mood for it!

it was lovely. i would love to see it made into a movie--the visuals would be stunning.

I loved The Night Circus so much, I would reread it before reading new stuff. That's saying a lot these days.
