My water broke at midnight, I woke up around 3:30 with contractions but I slept on and off until 5ish and got up. I called Amy (midwife on call at the birth center) at 6 and she told me to meet her there at 8:30, so I rested, showered, packed everything up and we headed out. At that point I was having contractions but was still quite cheerful and

You already know how excited and proud I am. :-) I was thinking about this last night after reading your story. If you had gone into the hospital with you water broken and at 2 cm they would have wanted to put you on pitocin to speed things along. I am so glad you had great midwives and got the birth you wanted. I know how important that is.

Oh and Emersyn and Jack are only 2 months apart. We will have to have them meet and play when they are older.
