the story doesn't have to be complete, does it? as long as it hits the 20,000 words. holy crap, i don't think i can get this done.

Eep! Well, preferably the story should be done, as your artist will have to read it to do their art for you. But if you're really pressed for time, you could probably hit the 20,000 word mark, send that off to me, and send your artist an email describing the rest of the plot so they won't miss anything.

I voted earlier, but decided to comment now.

As a reader I'll much prefer the stories to be spread out. Getting slammed with a load of stories all at once is the last thing I'd want.

Also. Much love to you for doing this. It must be stressy for you.

Thank you for adding your opinion! Since one of the opposing ones has apparently been deleted, le sigh. I personally agree with you, especially since that would mean 30 lj posts on everyone's flists all in one day, but if it'd been 16 votes for posting everything on the same day I'd have gone in that direction. :)

Thank you. ♥ It has its moments, but generally it's been really smooth and fun.

I voted for all stories at once, because I did not want to wait for stories!!!! However, good points have been made for spreading them out over a few days, so I shall abandon my own bandwagon for that one! My lack of patience (which you should know something about ;) ) made me vote without thinking it through, lol.

Bwahahaa! Awesome! You know you can manually correct your vote in the poll, right? Just click the poll link and hit 'fill out poll.' :D

Ah yes, but that would require actual thought, and, you know, clicking! ;)

Ah er um. I'm hoping going to have the story finished by the deadline, but it is going to be one heck of a rough draft -- I realised at 14,000 words that I had some things missing (like "Hey, I need Justin in here!") Is it okay if it has holes in it? I'll annotate where things are going to be added/changed, and fill in as much as I can, but I think it may be an either/or at this point.

(Sorry! I was not planning on doing this to you, oh Wonderful Mod!)

Oh hey, absolutely! The only thing your story has to have on October 31st is the minimum word count. :D I really like your idea with adding notes to it, that'll make it much easier for your artist as well. So, yes, please don't stress yourself out! Holes are totally fine. :)

Okay, awesome that annotated holes are OK! That I can do (and avoid my poor artist going "... But why are there otters?") \o/

Hang on... that means I have to write it. \o? Always a downside. *G*

I'm late to the train on this, but I prefer it gets spread out over several days. Maybe more than just 3! How they do it for SPN/J2 big bang is that every day, one SPN and one J2 fic gets posted. Maybe you could do (depending on the ratio of fics): one NSYNC, one BSB, one crossover each day. Or 2-3 each day. I guess it'd depend on how many total you have.

I'm going to read all of them regardless of band/pairing! So :P

Ooh, that's another really great idea! I'll admit to being a little hesitant to spreading out further than three days now though, because there's been some really strong opinions against everything not getting posted on the same day and more drama is the last thing I need. I think I'll have to see, like you said, how many total stories we get. But I really like that idea.

I'm definitely going to be reading everything as well!

Since I'm friends with wendy who runs the SPN/J2 big bang, I get to hear allll about her trials and tribulations. They had over 100 stories, so it's a little different, but even so, the idea of spreading them out is to give each fic the attention it deserves. Readers might not like having to wait (although in this case, it's not much of a wait!) but as a writer, having written a big bang? I feel like my fic that I worked on for months and put a lot of time and energy into really got the attention it deserved on its day, when it didn't have to compete with 30 other fics ( ... )

OKAY, I'VE CHANGED MY MIND.

I like this idea best. It spreads the fun out over multiple days, it theoretically gives readers time to leave feedback, and it still gives the NSync people NSync and the Backstreet people Backstreet (at least for a while at first, one would assume the lists aren't going to be split evenly.)

Compared to this, I'm not sure if one list of everything or three lists of not quite everything will make that much of a difference.
