Given I can't understand how couples manage to find time to both hold down a full time job+look after their kids (and how single parents don't go insane I'll never grasp) I may be considered lacking in creativity.  However add in a requirement to do manditory volunteering that this model entails I'm at a loss to comprehend.  I did die and go to

What do you mean by 'mandatory', though? There's no legal obligation on individuals to do any of this, surely?

not yet, but it feels like it's only a matter of time. My work place is already trying to find out if we do any voluteering, At the Kirkstall and Bramley carnival/festivals there's been stalls getting people to pledge to do Xhrs of volunteering a year.

I was told today, Year 11 kids will have to do community service before they leave , so they can get an aslan award or something! :)
