After the drama at Cortez's school, I called my mother (aka my contact when it comes to child psycology-or however you spell it) she said she would email me some phone numbers of some people who could observe Cortez to see if in fact there is something wrong with him... I just checked my email, and this is what she sent me ...
Hey you - first of all I would appreciate knowing what the level of educational qualifications or certificates they hold that they can diagnose a mental illness? That's my first question.
I have found several "day cares" in your area. I called one they sounded black - no openings in the state pre-k but they do have a four year old class at $105 per week.
There are several in the Union City area and I will call them this afternoon. Not to worry. I also put him on the list for pre-k in Clayton County.
I will be looking for a private pre-k with a BEKA program for four year olds. I am trying my best to keep it near your house or work. But I gotta' tell you I am more interested in a mostly white population.
These people have no power over you unless you let them! Do you think there is something wrong with Cortez? Then tell them so!!!
