I feel kind of sorry for the Roku guys, because I was seriously thinking about buying one, but the xbox just got a lot more attractive to a dude like me. Considering the Roku is $99, it feels like $99 off an xbox, now, in my mind. If I were a true geek/hacker/AV nerd, I would already have a box doing all this crap connected to my TV, but I guess ( Read more... )

Keep in mind that I think you'll also need to have an xbox live subscription, which is some dollars per month, so unless you're planning on playing some games online, that fee is going to add up to $100 fairly quickly.

Game-wise, there's always rock band and rock band 2, which are awesome, but only if you've got someone who wants to play with you. For you, I'd say there are 4 games coming from Square in the next 2 years: Last Remnant, Star Ocean 4, Infinite Undiscovery, and Final Fantasy 13. Also, I can't remember the name now, but there's already 1 japanese style rpg from one of the key developers of early FF games that folks said was pretty good. I'm not sure if those are selling points or not though.

That is a damn shame. Do you see more getting added regularly, or is it more like a licensing thing, where some things might just not ever make the necessary deal to become a "watch now" movie?
If you don't know I'll just look it up later.

36/196 discs in the queue are watch now. of course, you might be able to get more of the things you like into the queue and onto a box if it were watch now instead of taking up an actual dvd space. i have no idea why the other 160 things are not watch now. i haven't seen much change since the thing started.

Is it still 36/196 discs in the queue that are "watch now" enabled?
