I was forced into Vista when I got my laptop a year ago and it sucked. I hated every minute of it. I installed Windows 7 back in August. I saved all my personal stuff to an external drive and ran a clean install re-formatting my hard drive rather than just upgrading and then put all my personal stuff back.

It literally took 20 minutes to run the install and another 20 or so to put my stuff back. Fastest install I've ever done. The nice thing was, Windows 7 found all my drivers for me and I didn't have to do any searching on the Toshiba website.

The only noticeable thing I lost was my play lists on iTunes since I forgot to save them separately and all my music got jumbled in one big file.

Other than that... I can't say enough good things about Windows 7 as compared to Vista but I still prefer XP! Which is what we still use at work.

It's so nice when things just work. Too bad about itunes. I'll have to make sure I find out where that stuff is kept before I do Kim's PC.
