I just noticed this morning that the strike of doom was over his name in my friends list, thought that was odd, clicked on it and was promptly told that 'the lj has been deleted...blah blah...30 days to reactivate...'

I dunno wassup with that. :( I figured folks in VA with personal connections might, though. That's all.
