I usually check expedia, get the names of the hotels that come up, and then go to their sites directly to look for specials/book.

tripadvisor.com is a great way to learn a little more about each hotel before making a decision. It's all consumer reviews, so you can get a pretty accurate description of the property and see if there have been a lot of problems with service, etc.
