Awww, poor little squirrel! Good thing you saved it--it sounds like it didn't have much longer to live if it hadn't been picked up by you! If babies like that aren't kept warm and fed regularly they go downhill pretty quickly. I got to handle an intake on a baby squirrel just about a week ago at our center. It was so cute! This is why I'm a rehabber--it's such a warm and fuzzy happy feeling when you're able to save the life of something that otherwise would have died.

I know! It was such an awesome feeling! During the whole process, I started wondering if I should become involved with animal rehabbing after college. :3
