Mrf. At least you're not giving up, just playing it safe! :) I don't think there is anything wrong with that and you shouldn't feel too depressed... though it does kinda suck it sounds like you thought it out well and you are making the right decision.

Ya, definitely on the playing it safe. I'm sure though that you understand, sometimes when you're excited about something, its emotionally tough to back away from it in order to be "safe."

In thinking about it I think its the right decision, just not the "fun" decision.

*shrug* and its not like we lose anything from this decision, just put it on hold for a bit.

I don't believe in starter homes either. I don't see the point. I've always heard that you should never settle on a house. It might mean that you have to wait longer, but never settle.

I'm worried, as you mention, if we bought a "starter" that we would be stuck in it for more years than I would want. Trying to see the whole picture and waiting right now should put me in what I want sooner.....

*laugh* its just not the "fun" answer. Oh well, here's to more savings and paying off more debt in the meantime.

yeah, what everyone else said....

i agree it's not the *fun* thing to do, but it is smarter to wait & have ALL your ducks in a row & get what you want in the long run....
*especially* if you can go ahead & pay off debt in the meantime - the less you have when you house-shop, the better a loan you'll get when the time's right!

Yeah, thats the idea that we came too. I guess it makes me feel better that I've heard an outpouring of "thats probably a good idea" from everyone from my father, to my realtor, to my friends.

Thanks for the support.
