We opened up the Fall season today.
With 11 returning platers from last season and two newcomers, hopes were high that we'd build on our 7-1 summer season.
Unfortunately, our woes from our semifinal game continued. We fell behind 3-0 to start the game, losing 10-0. I could only go back 2 years in my records, but we hadn't lost by shuout in that long a period (in otherwords, longer). But it's hard to score runs when the team manages only two base hits all game. i was 0 for 1 with a sacrifice bunt.
I may have to exert more managerial authority in solidifying our defense as we had a couple of defensive alignments that didn't do too well. I don't want to be a micromanager, but we also need to take advantage of everyones' strengths againt good teams.
I can only hope we do better next week.
