My latest check-in

I seriously doubt anyone even reads these any more. Still, I'll post my update for anyone who cares.

¶ Work continues to keep me busy. My current project of the moment has been quite the challenege. Still, I remain determined to finish it, no matter how slow the progress may seem at times.

¶ The biggest sports news is that May saw me umpire middle & high school softball for the first time. As with my rookie basketball season five years ago, I had my shares of ups, downs, and learning experiences. I had some good games and my requisite rookie-game where i felt i did an awful job. Still, I enjoyed the experience and I'd definitely do it again next year if my schedule permits.

The only truly bad moment of the season came in what would be my last game date of the season. Behind the plate, I had an uncaught pitch hit me on the ankle, int he gap between my shin guard and plate shoe. It stil hurts now, so I've made an appointment with the doctor to make sure I don't have a break or anything requiring medical attention. Let's hope it's nothing serious as I had been hoping to attend a basketball officials camp this summer to help me keep my skills in that sport sharp.

Kickball has been rained out the past few weeks. We've only played twice and split our games. It was a bit ironic that our win came when we were so short handed, we had to scrounge up players from two other teams just to have enough players. Let's hope mother nature cooperates for us to finish our Spring season on time. Pending the outcome of my aforementioned doctor visit, that will detemrine if i try to play during the summer.

¶ With softball taking up nearly most of my spare time in May, my other sports and leisure activities were reduced to a minimum or put on hold. Still, I'm looking forward to having a fun and productive June.

That's it for now. Until next time...
