The best is being able to search for, say, sushi shops in your postal code ares (Google Local). Our Info Systems teacher showed it to us... a useful class in rather non-academic ways. =) You know about scholar.google.com too, right? Searches databases and articles. Ohhhh yeah!

Yeah Google has some really neat gadgets, even if they're more interesting than useful. I personally think video.google.com and Ridefinder are pretty awesome, though not particularly useful.
