If you have pets you're obligated to provide for them and that doesn't mean taking them to a shelter to be put down simply because YOU are going through a rough patch. Don't ask me for sympathy because the lack of responsibility is disgusting. Don't whine there aren't options because there are ALWAYS options if you get off your butt and look for ( Read more... )

People can be idiots. I can not imagine how anyone, with a clear conscience, could abandon their animals knowing they were going to immediately DIE and then have the GALL to ask a community for sympathy.

I'm having trouble getting these pages in your posts to space down. I couldn't leave a comment before, because it wouldn't space down to the "post comment" button. It's not doing it in others' posts. Wonder what's going on? Is anyone else having problem?

Any way, there is nothing on this earth that I can think of that would make me put down my dog. Nothing.(except extreme illness/pain, of course) If I have one can of beans, I eat half first, so I can take care of her, then give her the other half. If a hurricane is coming and I have no car...we walk. I'd carry her. And I'm not being dramatic or looking for pats on the back. I'm serious. She means that much to me. She is family.
