I really hope that the NLCS is Padres v. Mets because then I'll be able to shell out $300 and see the Mets in a playoff game. That'd be pretty awesome.

Well, if you want to see the Met's play, you can always come up to LA and watch the game(s).

Yeah like I want to sit in traffic to LA! Andy went there this weekend and it took him 5 hours each way.

When I have to go to SD, I take the train. Union Station to the stadium is $10. If I was going (not able to find a ticket I can afford, and certainly not two (what point going to see a playoff game alone?), I'd offer to pick you up.

I don't like taking trains for long distance unless I have someone to travel with... The weirdos always like to sit next to me...

My friend Brian has tickets to Tuesday's game here in SD and he doesn't even want them anymore - he's selling them for $60 total. Too bad I'm working.

Damn, now that's being a fan. Alas, I had a chance to go see Game 1 vs. the Cards and I can't make it -- damn work obligations!

So are you a Mets fan? I thought I remembered you being a soulless Yankee fan?

no I hate the red sox, so i rooted for the Yankees against them. That's what's wrong with you New Englanders. Assume everyone from NY is a Yankees fan just cause we'd rather see them win than the Sox

No, I didn't assume you were a Yankee fan. I happen to like the Mets and their fans. But I did remember you rooting against the Sox, and since Mets fans usually don't give a shit about the Sox (like the rest of the world), I just assumed you were a Yankee fan or some weird NY sports bigamist. My logic is sound!!

I didn't really care about the Sox one way or another until I went to UMass and realized the bulk of Sox fans are really just Yankee-haters and I find that to be unsound and irrational. You can't claim the kind of loyalty that leads to massive unrest and rioting solely based on a dislike of another city.
Preferrring another team not win is one thing. Burning shit with their name on it makes me think a lot less of those individuals (present company excluded of course)
