I want a summer house.. or a cottage. Or something. Then I can have all my friends up there for a weekend.. or a week, and I think that would just be amazing. Think about it. A place all to yourself.. with everyone you love.. and just living. Not existing.. like we do now so easily ( Read more... )

I'm sure everyone feels this to some extent. I've felt it for a long time too. I was just thinking the other day about how I can't wait to move out, because my house is just loud and annoying and I have no privacy etc etc. But I wondered if I would get sad when I lived in an apartment, not hearing my mom and my sister argue all the time, not coming home to my cats, but being in an apartment, paying bills, buying groceries, worrying about money, being on my own, not having the security of my parents, knowing they will take care of it all, feeling safe in my house and young.

But I still agree with you, moving out is this huge adventure that will be exciting and life after high school will probably be even more exciting. I personally can't wait, but at the same time, it all means growing up, it all means we are that much closer to being old, saying goodbye to sleepovers, saying goodbye to blowing off money when you want, goodbye to free weekends and carefree days. Ah. Growing up. It's so two sided.

Yeah, I see what you're getting at.. but I the down side doesn't really get to me. I guess the positives outweigh them.

P.S.
The reason I am excited for an apartment is the people watching. I want to have eccentric tenants, like that book Coraline, if you've ever read it, two old ladies that used to dance on stage, and an old man that teaches his pet rats to perform circus tricks.

I will lend it to you sometime. It's really short and quite an elementary book...but good nonetheless.
