The only thing that really jumped out at me was "fluke." It just seems like tenure would be a hard thing to garner by a fluke and it's a huge insult to suggest that. Just make sure that that's what you want to insinuate.

Other than that, I don't see much trouble with it. I especially like the conclusion.

As an out lesbian, I know that my life is a little more difficult for me, in some ways, than my straight counterparts.

I might add that in... because people find the silliest things to get made about just so they can miss your point entirely.

and i agree with megan on the fluke part. it is a really big insult. maybe at the time she was different, we have no way of knowing... so maybe a different word choice or phrasing there.

I think it's a great letter ...but if you want to send it to the Columns or Quadrangle et al, I'd be more specific about what happened. As I am still slightly confused, though I'm pretty sure I know who you're talking about and a general sense.

I'm proud of you for being pissed and standing up, and if you don't want to start something - come catch me and tell me wtf went down.
