Well, I was up to my eyeballs in all 10 as your beloved President.

Worked for me.

I think we tend to have different standards for someone who gives us the gift of science fiction. People who are giving us the gift of work are not generally so well-regarded...

Whenever I think of VUWSF, I crave pizza. =/

There is always pizza for all at VUWSF. You need only join us to bite off a slice.

I wonder I General Lee ever read Sun Tzu. I think it would have helped. It seems to me that the last line almost perfectly discribes Gettysburg.

It mostly stems from the fact that the Reb Cavalry under Stuart had been itching for some pillaging (and who wouldn't) and so due to the fact that, for the first time, they were in enemy territory decided to bugger off and kill/loot/rape/pillage heaps. This mean that the Reb army had no intel. When Hill's division was marching up the road to the village they were met by about 300 dismounted yankie cav. He didn't who or what he was fighting so he stopped, and in doing so stopped the entire Rebel troop train, thus giving the Yankies time to take the high ground.

Stuart showed up halfway through the battle. Lee wasn't so pleased.

This is apropos of nothing in particular, but is essential preparation for International Talk Like A Pirate Day.
