The Hangover
Year: 2009
Score: 8/10
Bottom Line: Try it - you'll like it!
My Thoughts:

So....SO. This is what took last summer by storm. Well I will say this - the movie IS funny. But would it be the best movie ever? No. Not in my book. It isn't one that screams at me to be a part of my large DVD library. It isn't one that I'd be in a hurry to watch again. THAT for me are signs of truly funny comedies that rank high up there. BUT! It is funny and I'm glad I saw it.

Premise is pretty simple: Guy is getting married. His buddies take him to Vegas for his bachelor party. Said buddies wake up next morning having no memory of the evening before and have seemed to have lost the Groom. Oops. Most of the film is spent unveiling the mishaps of the buddies as they stumble through some pretty odd hoops to get to the truth. And there is some originality here along with some of the stereotypical babes, booze, and binging. (Like my 3 B's?!)

The roles of the buddies are cast pretty well in the likes of Bradley Cooper *yummy*, Ed Helms *delightful*, and some new guy on my radar, Zach Galifianakis. In all honesty, he is really a big standout in the film. Very funny as well as odd and creepy. You just never know what he's going to say next or wear next. He plays the Bride To Be's brother and not a regular member of the Groom's (Justin Bartha) posse. But he's the character that brings it all together and helps to gel this film together and raise up the bar.

We didn't get enough of Justin Bartha in my opinion. He's normally a comedic standout and is playing the straight guy here - so that was hard for me to get used to. I just missed him. There are some *ew* moments, be on the lookout. There are a fun Vegas cameos that you're sure to like. And this film IS WORTH THE WATCH. For sure. And a great source of laughs for a night! And it is one of the funnier guys going crazy films I've seen...

You'll just have to decide for yourself if it's one that will take up space in your own library. Sorry Bradley, I'll have to take you home another time...
