I liked the movie overall, but the book is so much more fun. Without spoiling anything for either the book or the movie, a lot of stuff was left out of the movie that boggles me because it's pivotal in later books. I'm curious how they're going to work those things in if they ever make movies of the other books.
I really did like the movie, despite how it sounds. Thanks for the review!
I actually liked the movie ok. I just kept getting caught on the things that didn't quite work.
I've thought about reading the books and am actually more curious now. One review mentioned how episodic the movie feels and so I wondered how much they changed from the book to the movie. But I've heard really good things about the books so, when I have time...
I'd been thinking that we'd like to see this (Alex and I) but neither of us has read the book(s) yet. He has borrowed the first one to try it out (it's a series that I've been pushing him to try) and I happen to LOVE Green Mythology stuff....
definitely worth renting, I think. I LOVE Green mythology too! It's my favorite color ;)
Seriously, though, I read Greek mythology when I was in Jr. High because I was bored and found it so fascinating and such great stories and characters. oddly enough, I just read Helen of Troy by Margaret George for my book club so I already had Greeks on the brain. I wish I owned a good book of Greek mythology I could just pull out and read. Something more interesting than Edith Hamilton.
