I find it interesting that Ridley Scott would use Marion to make that kind of a speech - when in fact the entire myth about Robin Hood was only to rebel against the evilness of Prince John - in honor of King Richard, right? So he didn't have issues with those having a sovereign over him - just the wrong one.

I HATE that kind of modern-day political b.s. that we see pop up - especially in pieces like this where it couldn't be more out of place.

BUT I am not a fan of Russell Crowe per se, so not sure if I'll see this one, although I have always loved the idea of Robin Hood.

exactly right! Which connects to why I didn't like what the did to King Richard. In diminshing him they further reduced Robin's reason for fighting in the first place.

I also don't like the political statements showing up out of place. Unfortunately, if you're going to go see a Ridley Scott movie you sort of have to expect it, though. You just know that's what you're getting yourself into.

I'm not really a fan of Russell Crowe either. I am a fan of big action epics so, I'll take them with Russell if I have to ;)
