LJ Idol 7, Week 15: Nimbus

Feb 26, 2011 13:42

It was a bright, cold noonday in winter, with a clear blue sky that would likely not come again until true spring. Meabh did not ask to go out, and no one invited her. She was either disappointed nor envious. It was simply the way of things. She stayed in the tent with Old Aunt.

I love this story - the power, the unlikeliness of the heroine, the price she's asked to pay and the matriarchal feel overall.

The Tuatha have lived in my head for a long while now; they're something like my own personal paracosm. And there's a lot of matriarchal ritual and passing-the-torch amongst them. Glad you enjoyed!

You certainly know how to weave a tale. It was a wonderful story. Well done.

Well done. I could almost feel the sky growing darker around me.

Fascinating story. Only time will tell whether the girl will see or See.

If there's a chance, I'll probably end up telling what became of her. I have the idea this is sort of a triptych, only it would have been way too long for a single entry.

Thanks!

Probably wise that you did not go any longer for this entry but the sequel at least future would really be interesting to read. I hope you get a prompt that will let you tell it!
