Stop making it harder to get a brother elected President. Lord knows, it's going to be hard enough as it is. Stop getting on television and asking McCain if we are going to be slaves if he is elected (I'm looking at you Whoopi). Stop talking trash into live mics (That's you, Jesse Jackson)and stop trying to stir racial disharmony on the verge ( Read more... )

You know...and I know you were there for it...I've said white people is crazy/stupid/etc. etc. for years now.

Sounds like you are fully understanding me now, huh?

We all gotta stop acting colored (white, black, leopard print, rainbow crocs) and just be people. People with
more than 2 functioning neurons in our heads at any given time.

I personally haven't given up on this planet yet, but we don't have to agree on everything. ;)

I agree and feel like that was a very Boondocks moment of you! ^_^

And, may I add, to the women:

Don't vote for McCain/Palin just because Palin has a full set of matched chromosomes. Seriously... if you are a disgruntled Clinton supporter, I should hope it's simply because you believed in Clinton's ideas and philosophies and not in her having a vagina. If this is the case (that you cared about what she represented), then Palin is quite obviously the anti-Clinton.

Moreover, she doesn't like women very much. I mean, seriously. She exercises her daughter's right to free choice when it comes to her pregnancy, but she'd take that away from the rest of us and force her beliefs down our throats. Pfft. She's not even for it in cases of rape. Also, she was against the woman who filed a suit on discrimination in pay and for the statute of limitations on the case, so as to get it removed from court. Seriously, I thought our government was past sexist discrimination in the workplace. Well done, Palin, moving us back a few decades ( ... )

Actually, you should have watched her interview. She's not in favor of taking the abortion right away from the rest of us, and she has no plans to push such legislation in office. Her PERSONAL opinion, the opinion she recognizes is HER OWN, is that she's pro-life.

I stand corrected! I am ashamed to say I just went with the herd (and it's a bit hypocritical of me when I loath conservatives doing it with Obama to then turn around and do it myself... I shall stive to be better informed across the board!), but after reading this, I took the time to look up her stance on things. She's still opposed abortion in cases of rape and incest, but you are very correct in that she's not anti-choice across the board. Thank you! I learned something today (I'm not being sarcastic, either!). ^_^

I still maintain, however, that this notion that women are sheep and will simply vote for a woman because she's a woman (just as black people should jump on the Obama-wagon), is a bit rubbish. I mean, if the fact that Palin can sway Clinton supporters as some alleged, then they weren't even really concerned about issues to begin with. The two women are quite diametrically opposed... that was my main beef. That we're unthinking follower people. Now, if you are a woman and agree with Palin, then go for it. But, if you ( ... )

PS I brought this misconception up to my mother (who is also a Dem) and she thanks you as well. We both did not realize how much we were being swayed by the media, and shall both look into it more on our own and form our own opinions. It's just easier when you know your candidate and can see how things are getting distorted... but, yeah, I should be just as fair to the "enemy". Thank you very, very much! *hugs* ^________^
